Tie, $2 (Goodwill)
Shirt by Geoffrey Beene, $14 (Ross Dress for Less)
Pants, $7 (Goodwill)
Sunglasses by Guess (full price, Macy's)

Shoes by Madden, $35 (Ross Dress for Less)
Tan socks (full price, Macy's)
Pocket Square by Geoffrey Beene, $3 (Ross Dress for Less)
The watch is by Berenger Steel, I found it on sale on their Facebook page w/free shipping.

What I really like about this outfit is there are several different shades of blue. I took advantage of using a monochrome palette so that nothing would clash,  and I used the blazer as a neutral anchor color, matching it to my socks. Even though my socks don't show, it's important for the color to go well when they are visible, i.e. when sitting down. The pocket square is used as a bright focal point, and as flair, but as it is folded conservatively it isn't too distracting. The tie clip is my favorite item here. I borrowed it from my father, who used to be a mechanic. He said he got it for free from the Snap On tool company and he's had it forever. My feelings on borrowing: Articles of clothing, unless passed down from other generations, is a bit too personal, but it is always okay to borrow interchangeable pieces such as a tie, tie clip, cuff links, or pocket square. These are all acceptable while you are still building your wardrobe.... and make sure that you always return what you borrow!
